Our Programmes
Delivering practical solutions that expand access to justice and strengthen accountability.
AWJAI’s programmes respond to the justice challenges faced by individuals and communities. Through legal aid, detention monitoring, prison intervention, research and advocacy, we protect rights, promote accountability and work towards lasting justice reform.
Access to Justice and Victim Support
We provide legal aid, representation and practical support to victims of injustice, helping them understand, protect and enforce their rights.
Police and Detention Monitoring
We monitor law enforcement and detention facilities to promote accountability, safeguard the rights of detainees and strengthen compliance with the Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee (ACJMC).
Prison Intervention
We support access to justice for pre-trial detainees and individuals detained due to poverty by providing legal assistance, facilitating case reviews and working to reduce prolonged detention.
Research, Documentation & Public Education
We conduct research, document justice issues and provide public legal education to raise awareness, inform policy and promote evidence based reform.
Advocacy & Justice System Reform
We advocate for reforms that strengthen accountability, improve access to justice and promote a fair, transparent and effective justice system.
