CONFRONTING INJUSTICE: THE FIGHT AGAINST ILLEGAL EVICTION

Illegal evictions are not just unlawful—they are a barbaric act that strips individuals of their dignity, security, and sense of belonging. These sudden and often violent displacements cause untold psychological and emotional trauma, leaving families vulnerable and helpless. At AWJAI, we believe such inhumane practices must be confronted and eradicated.

Our journey began with a spark—a single illegal eviction that ignited a movement. It was this injustice that inspired the founding of AWJAI, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting for justice and holding perpetrators accountable.

Our founder’s personal story serves as a testament to resilience and the pursuit of justice. Wrongfully evicted from her property, she fought tirelessly to recover what was rightfully hers. This experience not only led to the recovery of her property but also laid the foundation for AWJAI’s mission to support victims of illegal evictions and advocate for systemic change.

We invite you to read the full account of our founder’s battle against injustice and the story of how AWJAI came to life.

CONFRONTING ILLEGAL EVICTION AND PROFESSIONAL MISCONDUCT

AWJAI was founded out of a profound injustice—an illegal eviction endured by our founder, Ms. Asabe Waziri, which ignited a mission to champion accountability and integrity within the legal profession. This pivotal experience revealed the urgent need to hold rogue professionals to account, particularly those who exploit their positions for personal gain.

Through a comprehensive approach, AWJAI confronts such injustices on all fronts: civil and criminal litigation, professional disciplinary measures, and public awareness initiatives.

We encourage anyone affected by illegal evictions to report through our Report a Violation portal. Together, we are paving the way for a more just and accountable society—empowering victims, challenging misconduct, and defending the rights of all.
