AWJAI, in partnership with the Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee (ACJMC), conducted an oversight visit to the Apo Legislative Quarters Police Station, led by His Worship Magistrate Dodo, on July 29, 2024. The visit aimed to assess the Nigerian Police’s compliance with the Administration of Criminal Justice Act and other relevant laws in managing suspects in custody. Court observers were also present to support the evaluation.
During the visit, the court requested the station’s arrest and bail records, revealing that 21 arrests had been made that month. Following a review of these records, the court ordered that three detainees be granted bail upon meeting the stipulated terms.
